Faster Publishing Equals More Traffic

As the world of blogging continues to become more and more competitive, it’s important for you to take advantage of as many strategies as possible in order to keep up with (and hopefully surpass) your competitors.
Although its not talked about often enough, one of the most effective techniques is publishing a post about a hot topic as quickly as possible. While this technique is nothing new (journalists have been vying to get the scoop for decades), because of the nature of blogging and the internet, being the first to break or discuss a story is taking place faster and faster. In the past, you would have needed to wait until the event had happened to write about. However, thanks to things such as mobile tools, you can now publish a post about an event as its happening.
A recent example of a blogger capitalizing on a current event is Patrick Altoft of Blogstorm. On June 21st, Patrick noticed that Google had a special logo on their homepage which linked to results for first day of summer 21 june. He quickly wrote a short hundred word post and published it on his blog. The next day, he reported that Google had sent 16,350 organic visitors to his blog over the course of one day! As you can see, publishing a story quickly can pay off by sending you huge amounts of visitors in a very short period of time.
